Ending Sexual Violence

YUGSA is proud to support the following organizations and campaigns working to end rape culture.

Sexual Assault Survivor’s Support Line & Leadership (SASSL)

SASSL is student-run and exists to provide unbiased and non-judgemental peer support and referrals to survivors of sexual violence. They provide a 24-hour support line during the Fall-Winter semesters, and their walk-in support is available all year round in their student centre office. They also provide educational outreach programs and information sessions at York U and in surrounding communities. Learn more.

Sexual Violence Policy Working Group

The Sexual Violence Policy Working Group works to create a foundation for supporting survivors in our community while working towards a sustainable strategy to address this systemic issue. This working group developed York’s first Sexual Violence Policy. Learn more.

No Means No

The Canadian Federation of Students developed the No Means No campaign almost twenty years ago to raise awareness and to reduce the occurrence of sexual assault, acquaintance rape, and dating violence. The No Means No campaign consists of various materials, including research on the incidences of sexual violence in Canada, buttons, stickers, posters and postcards. Learn more.
