Join us at our upcoming Annual General Meeting featuring the panel, “The York We Want, The Premier We Don’t: Post-Secondary Education in the Ford-Era”.
Date: Thursday, February 7, 2019
Time: 5:30-6:30 pm (Panel), and 6:30-8:30 pm (AGM business)
Location: Overgrad, Ross S167
Doug Ford’s Premiership promises to be a dangerous time for public post-secondary education, marked so far by free speech policies that embolden the far-right, cuts to satellite campuses and Francophone education, and attacks on students’ unions. As members of the York community, what can we do to challenge Ford? How can we mobilize the York community to push back?
Nour Alideeb, Chairperson (Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario)
Pam Frache, Provincial organizer (Fight for $15 and Fairness) & former CFS National Strike Coordinator
Alia Karim, President (York University Graduate Students’ Association)
Tom Rakocevic, MPP (Humber River-Black Creek)
Dinner will be served and cash bar available!
