YUGSA Introduces Two New Bursaries!
YUGSA Fitness Bursary
Deadline: First-come, First Serve until funds last.
YUGSA is constantly trying to provide services to enhance the mental and physical health of graduate students at York University. To support graduate students to be physically active and participate in their favourite sports which might not be affordable for all graduate students, YUGSA is providing a Fitness Bursary to eligible students. This bursary is aimed at covering the membership cost only of the sports activities and it works on reimbursement bases.
Guidelines and eligibility:
1. The eligible candidates for this bursary shall be YUGSA members (both full/part-time registered graduate students). Proof of registration will be required. Please note that Masters level Schulich students are ineligible per their associate agreement.
2. The maximum amount that each applicant can receive is $500 per fiscal year (May-April)
3- This bursary only covers the membership cost of the activities (equipment is not covered by this bursary)
4- Applicants can apply multiple times before reaching the $500 limit per fiscal year.
5- Students can use this bursary for their dependents as well, as long as they have not reached the $500 maximum (the documents for dependents are required)
6- There is no deadline throughout the year, and the Finance Committee will review the applications on an ongoing basis.
7- In accordance with the YUGSA Constitution and the interests of our members' privacy, the Association will destroy in a secure manner all collected application forms and photocopies once they are no longer needed for auditing purposes.
8- If the applicant is missing any required documents, the application will be rejected.
9- Students need to fill out the YUGSA Fitness Bursary form after they have paid the membership cost
10- Please direct questions regarding funding to finance@yugsa.ca
