Health Plan
The YUGSA Health plan is a supplementary health plan designed to provide comprehensive, low-cost coverage to our members for prescription drugs, dental, vision care, extended health services, and travel insurance.
The plan is compulsory for all full-time graduate students without comparable coverage for drugs AND dental and is optional for those registered part-time. Students also have the ability to opt-in spouses (including common-law and same-sex partners) and children. Students with equivalent or greater coverage with another plan can opt out. The plan duration is September 1st to August 31st.

The YUGSA offers a variety of funding and support for graduate student members. These funds are not meant to be a primary source of graduate student funding, but serve as additional aid.

Food Bank
The York Federation of Students (YFS) runs York University’s only on-campus food bank called the YFS Food Support Centre. All graduate students (both full and part-time) requiring emergency food relief are welcome to access this service. The food bank is located in 005 (Basement) in the Second Student Centre. Tax Filing
Through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) works with volunteers from community organizations to offer free tax preparation clinics for eligible individuals.

Our spaces are commonly booked for meetings, presentations, yoga, game nights, and more. Booking requests are primarily reserved for graduate students & departmental graduate students’ associations.

ISIC Card
The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is your passport to fantastic discounts and services at home and around the world. The ISIC card is the only internationally-recognised student ID, making ISIC card holders members of a global club. If you would like to obtain a virtual ISIC card, please visit CFS Ontario. Under the heading “How to get an ISIC” there is a link to apply for a virtual card free of charge. There is also an option to apply for a physical ISIC card for a $5 fee.
